Gas welding is a process that is based on the fact that some gases burn at a very high temperature. In gas welding, oxygen and acetylene are fed into a torch and ignited. The burning gas creates an intense heat of about 5500 degrees Fahrenheit. The invention of the oxyacetylene torch in the early 1900's made this process possible. The welder holds the torch in one hand and a rod of filler metal in the other. Under the heat of the torch the filler metal is gradually fused with the joint.
This process is used in welding pipe, especially pipe under 2 inches in diameter, sheet- metal work, and almost all the metalworking if industries. It is slower than arc welding but in most cases gives the welder better control over the weld.
Resistance welding was invented at about the same time as arc welding and is also based on electricity. In resistance welding, the metal sheets are placed on top of each other, and the spot to be welded is pressed between two electrodes. As the electricity moves from one electrode to the other across the metal, it is momentarily stopped by the tiny gap between the two pieces of metal.
The electric current can be compared to a stream that is temporarily blocked until the water builds up and pushes past the barrier. The heat created by the electricity is so intense that the two sheets will melt and fuse at that spot. Pressure is then applied to complete the resistance-spot weld. Resistance welding can be controlled electronically to split-second accuracy.
Resistance-seam welding works on the same principle except that the electrodes are wheels and the current is sent out in short spurts, making a series of welds along the joint. Seam welding is usually done on overlapping pieces of metal. In automobile bodies as many as 125 spot welds can be made at one time to join large parts. Because of its speed, resistance welding is one of the most widely used mass-production tools of modern industry.

Iso Certification Is Worth The Extra Effort
Dewitt, NY – February 26, 2010: ISO certification can be a challenging endeavor. According to Clark Finney, STS, WSO-CST, the results of certification are worth the extra effort.
In the Winter 2010 issue of Welding & Gases Today, the leading provider of information to the welding and gases supply business, Phinney, the safety director for Maine Oxy-Acetylene Supply and the quality director for the SpecAir Division located in Auburn, Maine, examines the value of ISO certification.
SpecAir Specialty Gases was one of the first independent specialty gas producers to achieve ISO 17025:2005 accreditation for calibration and testing. In his article, Phinney says accreditation had a powerful impact on the company.
Accreditation affects the way SpecAir's employees work together as it compels a new way of looking at work flow and the work product. Phinney notes that many of proprietary innovations at SpecAir are a result of ISO's influence on the team's thought process.
ISO certification also impacts SpecAir's sales and marketing components. According to Phinney, SpecAir Senior Sales Manager Ernest Glynn observed that many of SpecAir's customers recognize the value of ISO certification. Glynn notes that he incorporates accreditation into marketing and price presentations as many customers are willing to pay for quality and excellence.
Phinney concludes that the company view ISO accreditation as a key to SpecAir's growth beyond its current local distribution network. He writes that ISO certification enables SpecAir to present a high-end quality product line to customers around the world.

65.0g C2H2 = 2.5mol (65gC2H2 x 1mol/26g)
Assuming you have excess O2,
2.5mol C2H2 x (2mol H2O / 2mol C2H2) = 2.5mol C2H2.
Technically C2H2 and H2O in the equation have same stoichiometric moles (2 C2H2 = 2 H2O) so you get same moles of H2O as your moles of C2H2.
