Here are some more information for Auto Helmet:

Beanie Helmets are the most popular type of motorcycle helmet available to buy.
Beanie helmets are made up of two distinct parts, the outer shell and the inner protective liner which is the actual protecting factor.
The outside shell is made up of either resin fiber composite (for example fiber glass), or it may be made from molded thermo plastic. In both cases while it does add some degree of protection it is actually there for the looks. The inner liner is the actual mechanism that protects your head and especially your brain. The inner liner is expanded polystyrene (EPS). Yup, that's right, the same material your beer cooler is made from.
The liner is in a continuous state of expansion (swollen to its largest size possible). When a crash occurs the expanded polystyrene crumbles and absorbs the shock of the impact. A good fitting helmet will prevent the brain from sliding forward within your skull.
Once you realize the process of polystyrene crumbling you should realize how very important it is to never ever buy a used helmet. If the used helmet you buy has been in a wreck and the polystyrene is crumbled, the helmet is useless for protection.
When you find collectable beanie helmets, or a vintage helmet at that yard sale by all means buy them, just make sure you only display them around your bike area: they are not safe to wear. Whether you are buying a discount helmet or the most expensive model you can more than double your post crash chances of survival by making sure the helmet is DOT certified.
Dot is short for the Department Of Transportation. Dot does not govern motorcycle helmets, it provides industry guidelines. If a manufacturer follows all of the guidelines the helmets produced can sport the DOT decal. Of all the states in the U.S. where motorcycle helmets are mandatory a minumum of DOT certification is required to be legally worn.
Ride Safe.
I love riding motorcycles. Especially my Harley Davidson Sportster.
When I am not riding motorcycles I enjoy talking about motorcycles and writing about motorcycles. I do enjoy all the extras involved with motorcycle riding. The clothes, the belt buckles, wallets etc...all things Harley-Davidson. Helmets are a favorite theme of mine, whether they are full face, beanie helmets, a nice vintage helmet, or a discount helmet found on one of the online auctions.
I have a website Beanie Helmets I hope you will visit it often and join in the discussion.

Tips On Getting A Motorcycle Helmets For The Child
Children should learn about safety at a young age. This will prevent the occurrences of accidents happening inside the home or whenever the family decides to go out.
When the kids are in the car, the seat belt must be securely fastened. Should the same child decide to go on the motorbike, the individual must never leave home without wearing a helmet.
The motorcycle dealer where most models are sold may not have the right kind that will fit the child. Parents will have to check out the nearest sporting goods store so this can be fitted before deciding to buy it and bring this home.
Here are a few tips that parents and children must know when choosing a motorcycle helmet.
1. This should be made of strong material that has a sticker certifying it has passed numerous tests.
2. This should be put on by the child and worn for several minutes. This will determine if this is comfortable for the user for those short and long trips.
3. The right straps must be chosen for the helmet. This will make sure that the head gear will not come off should the motorcycle suddenly accelerate or stop.
4. The helmet purchased should come in bright colors such as red, white, yellow or orange. Though some people think its best to get the kind in black, the reason for getting it in such colors is for drivers to see the motorcycle in front.
5. Before buying the helmet, the person should check it meticulously for cracks, loose padding, frayed straps or exposed metal since this could cause problems in the future for the user. If there are, perhaps the sales person can check around in the back for a newer or better one that has the same specifications that was previously chosen.
Most motorcycle helmets come in just one color. If the person feels that this may not be visible to the driver in the back, one can always buy some reflective stickers, which can be placed in the rear on in the sides.
This can be purchased in auto detailing shops. If there are none that the child likes, then its time to check online or make a customized one.
The motorcycle helmet is a life saving device. People should follow the tips mentioned in getting the right one because this could save the child from serious injury should an accident take place.

Best rated welding helmet?
For Christmas, my boyfriend REALLY wants an auto-darkening welding helmet. I'm no pro welder, so I was wondering what some good brands and specs to look for are... I'm looking at spending $200 max, so if you know of any good-quality ones that are in that price range, that would be spectacular. I really want to get a good quality one, but I don't know what to look for.
Thanks!!
I agree, go to Sears and check 'em out. The brands don't count for much. Most helmets are pretty basic. They make some pretty wild looking ones but that don't do anything for the welding. Try for a lens that darkens to at least a #9 shade. #10 is better if you are working inside in a shop.
I never cared for auto dark except for tig weld and plasma cutting.
