We generally only think about gloves when it comes to the winter - the kind of gloves that protect our hands and fingers from the harsh temperatures and weather conditions of the winter. Strangely enough, we don't usually think about gloves that protect us from other types of danger: safety gloves and work gloves. These kinds of gloves come in a multitude of different strengths, sizes, materials and other such characteristics.

For instance, the most common type of glove would be the standard leather glove, which is a multi-purpose item. You might use this type of glove for general housework, moving, packing, shoveling and even gardening. Most leather gloves are blended with cotton and leather to allow for abrasion protection and breath-ability so your hands are doubly protected. For more specialized types of housework, like plumbing or septic work, there are waterproof gloves for situations where moisture or water is an issue.

If you are a hunter, there are gloves made especially to keep your hands heated during a long, cold winter hunting trip. You don't even need to use those warming pouches - available in black or camouflage decor, these heated gloves are battery operated! There are also anti-vibration gloves that help reduce the effects of vibrating tools on your hands over time. These are perfect for construction workers who work with jack hammers or belt sanders.

While there are a lot of gloves for many kinds of jobs, they are not all necessarily heavy duty gloves, like the types I talked about above. There are also plenty of disposable kinds of gloves for various jobs regarding food processing, cleaning and clinical medicine. Someone who may work at a food processing plant may want to wear disposable nitrile coated gloves, which are also perfect if you work with toxic chemicals. These gloves are also perfect for medical professionals, protecting him/her from potentially dangerous patients with diseases. Nitrile is also excellent for those with severe allergies to latex - they don't cause any reactions!

Depending on your industry and personal needs, there is a pair of safety gloves out there that are just right for you! Get your hands in them right now!

Laser Eyelid Surgery - Blepharoplasty

"The eyes are the windows to the soul!" This famous quote seems to emphasize the importance of our eyes appearance. It is the eyelids that frame and highlight the appearance of our eyes, thus making the eyelids an essential component to our facial appearance. The eyelids are usually the first place signs of the aging process appear.

Many people complain that the "bags" under the eyes or the loose and redundant skin of the upper eyelids give them a tired appearance. The "bags" cause the appearance of dark circles under the eyes making one look tired even after a good nights sleep. This problem can even affect young people, as this problem often runs in families.

There are essentially two major problems that affect the eyelids. One is the build up of excess fat behind the eyelids, especially in the lower eyelids. This pushes outward on the eyelid causing a bulge or "bag" to develop. Light, which most often comes from above us, will shine on the bulge and cause a shadow to form under the lid. This gives the appearance of dark circles and the tired-look.

The second major problem affecting eyelids is wrinkling of the skin. This is due to a loss of the skins natural elastic properties, which can be as a result of the aging process, sun damage and cigarette smoking. The excess skin can become redundant and hang down, especially on the upper lids, adding to that tired or aged appearance. Excessive drooping of the upper eyelids can even obstruct vision.

Surgical treatment, called a Blepharoplasty, is directed at each of these problems. This ultra skilled approach represents a blend of the highest level of safety with the best aesthetic results.

Candidates for laser Blepharoplasty include those who have:

A tired appearance of the eyes. "Bags" or bulging of the lower eyelids. Redundant skin, muscle and fat of the upper eyelids. Obstruction of vision from drooping upper eyelids. Wrinkling of the eyelid skin.

In the lower eyelids, the vast majority of patients have too much fat build up behind the lid. Some plastic surgeons use the CO2 laser to go behind the eyelid to remove the excess fat. The beauty of the laser is that as it cuts thru tissue it immediately seals or "welds" the blood vessels shut. This method decreases the risk of bleeding, which is especially important around the eyes.

There is generally less bruising and swelling associated with this technique, thus allowing for faster recovery than traditional techniques. Sun damaged and wrinkled skin of the lower lids are treated by a laser resurfacing technique designed to eliminate the damaged outer layer of skin and promote the production of new, healthier collagen. This really helps to tighten the skin. This method also avoids any visible incision on the outside of the lower eyelid, and minimizes the risk of the lid being pulled downward.

Some plastic surgeon use the CO2 laser on the upper lids to remove any excess tissue and protruding fat. The incision is placed in the natural crease in order to provide maximal healing and camouflage. As excess skin, muscle and fat are removed with the laser, the blood vessels are again welded shut.

Following a laser Blepharoplasty, patients are instructed to place ice on their eyes for 24 hours (15 minutes on the area, followed by 15 minutes with ice off of the skin). Patients should avoid all exercise, heavy lifting and bending-over for two weeks after the procedure. Additionally, those patients who undergo laser resurfacing will be instructed in how to compress with water and/or ointments to aid in the healing process.

Laser eyelid surgery is a wonderful way to restore the youthful appearance of your eyes and rid yourself of that tired appearance.

Joke:::::MAY THE FORCE BE WITH Y'ALL?

You might be a redkneck jedi if....
you ever heard the phrase, "May the force be with y'all."
your Jedi robe is camouflage.
you have ever used your light saber to open a bottle of Bud Light.
you have ever had a land-speeder up on blocks in your yard.
wookiees are offended by your B.O.
you have ever used the force to get yourself another beer so you didn't have to wait for a commercial.
you have ever used the force in conjunction with fishing/bowling.
your father has ever said to you, "Shoot, son come on over to the dark side...it'll be a hoot."
you have a confederate flag painted on the hood of your land-speeder.
you ever fantasized about Princess Leah wearing Daisy Duke shorts.
