Inevitably, one or more of the subcontractors will try to take over and push the job in whatever direction benefits him. Chances are, that direction will not be in your best interest. My boss charges out my daily expenses at X amount, but doesn't pass on all the money, is this illegal.?
I am a contractor who has to work away very regularly, i only get £12.50 a day for my food + drink, which as you can imagine, doesn't go very far especially down south. Most of the other companies i contract to usually pay a minimum of £20.
Recently i found out that my boss charges my expenses out to companies at £20, but keeps £7.50 for himself!!
He has also stopped paying my mileage and told me i have to catch the train (which is absolutely ridiculous, how i am supposed to carry, drills, tool boxes, testing kits and then my clothes for the week on a train, is beyond me!)
Is this illegal? What can i do?
