Has anybody ever tried to cut the tip of their baby's pacifier to get them to stop using it?
My son is 18 months old and I thought of trying this. I heard you couldn't do it to the silicone ones. Is that true? Please don't tell me to just throw them away. I'm already considering this as well but I'm looking specifically for answers about cutting the tip of the pacifier off.
I told my daughter that she was getting older and big girls didn't use a pacifier. I threw it in the trash and then took the trash out. I know it sounds harsh but as long as you do it with kindness and authority they get over it real quick. If you cut off the tip and keep it around the habit is not broken, the child sees it and still wants it and the child suffers longer. Kids are strong, you just have to be too.
