Mac OSX Leopard partition disappeared?
I have a MacBook Pro with OSX Leopard operating system. I was using Boot Camp to partition about 45 GB to turn into Windows XP, but part of the way through the screen darkened and a message appeared that told me to hold dow the power button and restart my mac. I did, but when i turned my computer back on, the 45 GB i was partitioning had vanished. I tried going to disc utilities but it wasn't there. Please tell me where my GB went, and how i can get it back. Thank ou in advance for your answer.

The thing that is really hard is that if it crashed in the middle of partitioning, the partition could be there but not have any type of bios or formatting set up on it. There needs to be some kind of firmware on the partition in order for the computer to recognize it. I ran into this problem once when my friend erased my Windows Partition completely.
There are a couple of complicated terminal commands you can run in an attempt to force the drive to repartition, but that most likely won't work (it didn't when I tried it). What I had to do and what you will most likely have to do as well, is just reinstall the OS. I had to backup my computer onto another drive, erase both partitions and repartition the entire drive, then reinstall the operating system.
How new is your computer and how far are you away from an Apple store? If your computer is under warranty (and even if it's not) I would take it into the Apple store, explain the situation and most likely they will fix it there for you. If that's not an option.
