Am I really getting what I paid for?
My motorcycle requires premium grade unleaded fuel (91 octane R+M/2). My local gas station has pumps that only use one hose to dispense three grades of fuel.
I know that the last 20 customers to use the pump bought regular grade gasoline, so when I pull up to the pump to buy 3-4 gallons of Premium, how much of the gasoline I receive is actually premium grade 91 octane?
There is a release valve inside the fuel line. When the pump stops, all remaining fuel drains back down below this valve and the valve shuts. Any remaining amount is so miniscule that it wouldn't matter.
As long as the pumps have a recent (within 1yr) inspection sticker on them, then they are probably fine.
