How does a mechanic check to see if gas tank hose is rusted out .?
Thanks for all the tips on my 97 neon. he said it is the hose that runs down in the gas tank, I keep a lock on the tank so I did not know if he meant from inside or out , Because he had no acsess to look in my gas tank i assume it is under the car.
Not sure what hose your talking about, but if you mean the pipe that gas runs through when you fill it up he can see it by opening the top of the fuel tank where the sending unit is. If you have rust in the tank there is only a couple of places it could come from and the only way to get ride of it is have the tank boiled and re-sealed. We used to have to do it on old MB diesel cars.
