Did the NCAA change its grey-color-only gloves policy?
thanks to all of you who answered my previous question.
I know color gloves have been banned after 1999 to help the referres see holdings from receivers and to better evaluate if a catch close to the ground is actually a catch or an incomplete pass.
I also know since then teams have been allowed to wear only gray on their gloves (only shades of gray are allowed)
I know this rule applies only to D1 schools
I know that there are a bunch of color gloves on eastbay but that is intended for D3 or high school players that are not subject to this rule. D1 players don't buy their gloves on the internet anyway, they get'em for free.
But now that i see some D1 players wearing color/gray gloves and nike change their usual white/color to grey/color gloves on eastbay.com my question is :
Did the NCAA loosen up its gloves-color policy ? or was it just that the players violated the uniform policy (nfl players do that all the time) ?

NO, not unless any of the following was changed for the 2009 NCAA season.
Three tints are allowed. A small logo of the manufacturer is allowed. Failure to comply is a five yard penalty.
The Nike Vapor gray/black palm WAS approved prior to the 2008 season.
The rule applies to all divisions.
Whatever you saw was in violation of the 2008 rules.
