In case you have a large volume of printing, a laser printer will save you some money on the longer term. The cost for one printed page is about 5 times lower with laser printers than with inkjets. This means that if one color is finished, you need to replace the whole cartridge. Laser printers need less frequent refills. There were 'parallel port splitter' devices, so you could use one at a time, or you could look for parallel port expansion card (but these are nearly unobtainable nowadays). Without an extra card it's about impossible to use two parallels simultaneously.
OTOH look for a network print server for your printer. Then the printer will live as a standalone network device and you'll communicate with it over ethernet.
