Here are some more information for Mig Gloves:

Welding requires common sense when it comes to safety! The warning labels that the equipment manufactures post need to be followed with no exceptions! Unlike most other trades where you can get away with bad safety practices, welding will injury you without exceptions.
Some of the basics of safe welding are:
- Have a good fitting welding helmet with the proper shade lens.
- Leather welding gloves designed for welding.
- Clothes made of pure cotton or are designed for welding.
- Leather boots that are high enough for your pants to overlap them.
- Make sure you have a safe work area with good ventilation and nothing flammable or explosive nearby.
The most obvious piece of safety equipment is a welding helmet. When it comes to welding helmets these days they are all good. What you need to pay attention to is how well the helmet fits and always choose the proper lens shade for what you are welding. If you fail to use a welding helmet or even the wrong lens shade you will get flashed! Flash burn takes only a few seconds of exposure to blister your eyeballs and burn your skin. My favorite part of getting flash burn is you won't know it until it is too late! It's like going to the beach on the first day of summer and not wearing sun screen. Oh yeah, you know the feeling later that day or night when you realize... That's it!
Clothing is another major piece of safety equipment. Many times the clothing you wear may not be designed for welding. In that case 100% cotton with no fuzz on it will do.
When it comes choosing your welding gloves always buy them from a welding supply store! First hand, every pair of welding gloves I have bought from a store that was not a welding supply store was a waste of money! Cough up a little extra cash and you will save yourself time and money wasted on these so called bargains.
Leather boots are also a big deal when it comes to welding! You want your boots high enough for your pants to overlap them. Just try to weld wearing a pair of sneakers and you will see how fast a spark will find its way through your sneakers, then past your socks, and finally burn you!
Finally make sure the area you are welding in has good ventilation and is free of flammable or explosive substances! To start some welding processes produce toxic fumes and require good ventilation or a respirator. One of the major concerns in welding has to do with shielding gasses. Argon for example can fill a room like water and suffocate someone without them having a clue what is happening! Many welding processes produce sparks of molten metal that are always hitting you and the floor. Just imagine how quickly a flammable or explosive substance will ignite! Then there is the possibility of electric shock! Most welding processes use electricity and the electrodes holder is a real live wire.
In the end welding can be dangerous but common sense and following the rules will protect you. The most important thing to do is follow what the manufactures recommend! No excuses just do it! If you are not sure just ask your welding supply store and they will be more than happy to explain things to you!

Working with a welding machine made easy
The industrial needs are increasing each day and almost all sector of activity make use of the welding technique in one or the other way. The welding processes have become so important that the companies are hiring welders who have thorough knowledge of the operation process, capacity to read welding symbols from blueprints and advanced working skills. These are basic characteristics that the companies seek in the welders. But the most important thing is the way the welder handles the welding machine and how he operates it. Certain protective steps should be essentially taken for making sure that the welding process is done safely and efficiently. The following steps would help the welding process easier.
The first and foremost thing to consider is the place where the prospective welding machine would be placed. It is advised to keep the machine in a dry area where air circulation is proper and there is proper ventilation. The air circulation is absolutely important because during welding all sorts of chemical fumes would be emitted following the technological process. Such fumes are hazardous and are highly risky for the operator's health. If at all open air access is not possible, the welding machine should necessarily have special ventilation which would be placed very close to the machine. Thus the air circulation can be assured to an extent. Moreover it is also important to make sure that there are no flammable substances anywhere near the welding machine. Substances like paints, solvents or any other chemicals of flammable nature increases the chances of accident exposures.
The second important thing would be the cleanliness of the area where welding takes place. The area should be cleaned prior to the welding process since any trace of paint, oil, rust or other impurities can possible reduce the efficient functioning of the welding machine. Here the need for protective apparels arises which is very important. The welder operating the machine should essentially wear protective gadgets like protective gloves which are fireproof, apron and a special helmet along with protective glasses. Such apparels would help the welder to prevent exposure to radiation, sparks, spatters or fumes that occurs during the usage of the welding machine. Above all, yet another important to be noted is that all the settings of the welding machines should be arranged in accordance with the characteristics of the metal that is going to be welded. If that is not done, then burn outs or low arc penetration would happen.
The welding machines are usually purchased for industrial use but if you are an amateur welder or a novice, you don't need to buy the machines. Evaluate the work before setting out to buy the welding machines and welding equipments. Compare the extent of investment possible along with the desired results. If you are only doing occasional welding, then a rented welding machine is more than enough. But if the welding machine constitute almost 60% of the activity, then it is better to buy one. There are many other cost effective options like purchasing used welders which are reliable due to the liability of the engine.

How much does all the welding gear cost for MIG welding?
Yes, I am looking for a number estimate. Around here all the jobs I've seen at least require your own safety gear, like helmet and gloves, some require you to have your own tools. I can look up helmet and gloves online, but I don't know about all the other crap.
Im just looking for a rough estimate of how much guys who buy all that crap have to spend. I'm guessing around $800 but I could be wrong.
i spent 2500 for my rig but its top of the line
