The Ball is a large rubber, rotating cover which surrounds the motor. This ball is the sole steering mechanism. You simply angle the vacuum handle to turn the vacuum cleaner in one direction or another. The more you angle the unit the wider it turns. This eliminates the need to lift the head every time you want to turn the vacuum in a new direction. The ball also makes it much easier to get into tight places.
This model makes it easy to go from carpets to bare floors or delicate rugs. Just flip a switch and the brush turns off.
Don't like the hight cost of replacing filters? This Dyson uses a lifetime, washable HEPA filtration system. The Dyson's filtration is approved for allergy sufferers by the British Allergy Foundation.
