Here are some more information for Svo Wvo:
Bio diesel fuels (made from plant or animal fats and some form of alcohol) are used by many localities, to run trucks or buses. But vegetable oil has some legal barriers. Vegetable oil has to be certified by the federal government for use as a motor oil. Certification is required by the Environmental Protection Agency for any engine systems modified to use vegetable oil. To date, no vegetable oil conversion has achieved EPA certification. So when you change your bus into a grease car you are illegally tampering with your emissions system. A properly converted modern automotive diesel can be fueled by vegetable oil and meet or exceed the requirements of the EPA emission standards, giving better results than ULSD diesel fuel from a renewable fuel.
There is another barrier that will slow the production of vegetable oil as a fuel. Vegetable oil can be collected by any individual for their own use without a license in any state as far as I know. Laws very from state to state. Any fuel used to fuel a diesel engine is considered diesel fuel according to the IRS. Therefore Straight vegetable oil ( SVO ) or Waste Vegetable OIL ( WVO ) is taxed the same as petro based diesel fuel. If you considered collecting used cooking oil for processing and resale you will have to pay a fee from a government control on it and then you also pay a License fee for hauling the oil. Now this will very state to state also and the cost is not small. Try storing a half million gallons of ( WVO ), you would have the EPA knocking your door down.
For the home brew small use person there isn't a problem collecting your WVO and processing it in your garage. That is changing bit by bit. I know in Alaska you have to claim it on your tax return. You pay $0.08 per gallon on the state and $0.244 per gallon on the Fed. The user must submit their Alaska Motor Tax on a monthly basis. Weather you do or not is hard to prove. Alaska wants their road tax so there must be a lot of WVO activity up there to get the state worried about tax collection for the roads. I believe we should pay for our roads through fuel tax as long as its far.
Weather its bio deisel, WVO, or SVO you will have to process the fuel or modify the diesel engine. You can pay your taxes or not pay them. If you get into processing on a large scale you will have no choice. Its a bit hard to hide large tanks of WVO. On the small scale though the project of processing your own WVO for your grease car or skoolie should be fun and you should be able to run (in some cases) under a dollar a gallon. That's my plan on the school bus conversion I'm building.

Generating Power From Wvo (waste Vegetable Oil)
We all know that Waste Vegetable Oil can be converted to Biodiesel. To get the total understanding of what a biodiesel is, this refers to a non-petroleum-based diesel fuel that consist of short chain alkyl esters (methyl or ethyl) through the process of transesterification of the vegetable oil or animal fat which can either be used alone or blended together with conventional petrodiesel in unmodified diesel engines.
Biodiesel is distinguished from the straight vegetable oil (SVO) used as fuels in some converted diesel engines.
How biodiesel was discovered and where… goes back to 1937 in Belgium. It was discovered by G. Chavanne of the University of Brussels when they were performing the procedure for the transformation of vegetable oil for their uses as fuels.
There are many uses for biodiesel. It can either be used in its pure form or can be blended with petroleum diesel as what we have stated above, at any concentration in most modern diesel engines. Biodiesel has different solvent properties than petrodiesel and will degrade natural rubber gaskets and hoses in vehicles (mostly the ones manufactured before 1992). One thing about biodiesel is that it has been known to break down deposits of residue in the fuel lines where petrodiesel has been used.
Biodiesel is distributed globally. Their sources are everywhere – you can get them in your own homes, local markets, restaurants and in food manufacturers. Waste Vegetable oil is the way to go for a healthy and clean living; as well as being cost-effective it really is the best alternative fuel.

Who has converted their Jeep Liberty to WVO/SVO?
I want to buy a diesel 2006 Jeep Liberty and convert it to WVO for my next car. Anyone else done this? Any horror stories? Things to watch out for?
I'm hoping to have a second (hidden) tank under the floorboards. I'm in Canada and I need to ensure that the cold won't affect the performance or burn. As much as possible I want the car to look and function normally (no freaky wires or tanks in the back seat)
What kit did you use? Who installed it? I'm in Toronto, can you recommend someone?
Also, anyone know where I can buy biodesel in Toronto or Richmond hill?
Do you run one SVO or WVO? How do you filter? Big setup or easy?

OK, here is the scoop!
The Jeep liberty has too many plastic parts in the injector pump and system. It'll work, but not for more than a year. This is also true about Ford Power strokes and some Cat engines. the compression in these motors is too low for efficient use of WVO, and will not run efficiently.
Now what would work is to switch out the motor from a Mercedes 300TD or 300D, which can be fitted with a modified bell housing, and will give you mechanical injectors, 23 to 1 compression, and readily available parts. The other thing you could do is get a Mercedes, Audi, or VW diesel, that is designed with bio fuels in mind.
Another alternative is to get a Dodge pickup with a Cummings turbo diesel, they convert over well, maybe your Jeep can be fitted with the Cummings engine, then it is not a problem
