Have you ever seen a demolition derby where they get a bunch of cars and all try to eliminate each other from the event? It's kind of like a race gone crazy. They usually have them at county fairs and events like that.
Well, recently I just started a web-site for selling baby jogging strollers, and while talking with some friends I ask them if they would help me promote my site.

Well I would like for you to officiate a contest, was my reply.
Sure, we would be glad to, they said, and what kind of contest are you having?
A Baby Jogging Stroller Demolition Derby! It was all I could do to refrain from laughing.
A WHAT?
Yea, I said a demolition derby for baby strollers……and at that I left.
Well, the next day, one of them called and asked, "Are you serious?" Well, heck yes, was my reply. Where? Well, down at our local Civic Arena. OK, but do you really think that would be a good idea? Well, I don't know but it sounded like a good idea at the time, why are you thinking about volunteering?
I was about to burst, I bit my lip till it bleed. I was just joking of course, but sometimes my friends just never know what I will come up with next.
I couldn't believe that anyone was really taking it serious. I said, "Do you really think I would do something like that? Do you really think people would go and watch such an event?
Well, "no" was the reply, "but after thinking about it and watching some things on You Tube, I just thought you might be serious, you just never know what some people like for entertainment."
I agreed, and then after thinking about it for awhile I thought, why not? But then I just decided that maybe we could just stage one just for laughs and video it and put it on You Tube.
After seeing some of the things that happen at Christmas, people stampeding to get the low prices at the malls, maybe I ought to just offer a free one and watch what happens.
I could just envision the strollers with racing stripes and flames painted on them. It could become the next sporting event of the century. Couldn't you just see it at the Olympics? Having an International baby stroller demolition derby?
Well, that is my story about my first publicity idea for my new web-site. I hope you enjoyed it. It is actually a true story and I get a big chuckle by telling it although my friends will probably claim that they do not know me after reading it.
