All Christians know that Jesus was baptized in water, and that at his command they too are to undergo the ritual. In today's Church, there are debates over the meaning, mode, and application of baptism. These debates may be solved biblically by asking the question, "Where does baptism originate?" This rarely asked question forces us to go deep into Jewish history-and especially into their Scripture (what Christians refer to as the Old Testament)-for an answer.
Because this question is seldom raised, those who want to see OT connections with baptism end up rooting it in a non-equivalent ritual called circumcision. By comparing circumcision to baptism as sacramental counterparts, Roman Catholics, Orthodox, Lutherans, and Presbyterians all baptize their infants. Others, who do not buy into a circumcision/baptism equivalency, habitually act as if the OT is a minefield, and only go to the century of (or before) the NT for answers. With no real background into the rich meaning of baptism from the OT, Baptists ironically practice the mode and application correctly, but sometimes have little understanding and even bad theology as to why people should be baptized.
The OT is very helpful in providing answers, especially when we let the NT inform and guide our interpretation of it. Paul refers to the Red Sea crossing of Israel as a baptism. Peter refers to Noah's flood as a baptism. Hebrews refers to various baptisms that were commanded in the Law. We can make interesting comparisons with these baptisms and Jesus baptism. For instance, the flood, Red Sea, and Jesus' Jordan baptism all have a bird-like figure hovering over the waters. It is these kinds of connections that made many early Church Fathers see even the creation in Genesis 1:2 as a baptism! The simple answer is that NT baptism comes from OT baptism.
A unique aspect of each of these four stories is how God is starting afresh, beginning a new creation. Also, in each of these stories God has given a covenant promise to a federal head who will represent the people. The baptisms of the Law are no different. The "covenant of Levi" distinguishes the sons of Aaron as priests before the LORD. At the beginning of their ministry, which had several very specific requirements met by Jesus, they were to be immersed, baptized in water. Thus, the NT tells us that we, God's new creations, are baptized as kingdom of priests, to serve as holy guardians the NT temple of our bodies and the church. Because of its OT counterpart, Baptists are correct to practice baptism the way they do, but now we can begin to understand why.

A Brief Guide to Black & Decker Power Tools
Black and Decker power tools are well known for their trade mark colors of black and bright orange. They offer a complete line of power tools, featuring every kind you can imagine. Their power tools include saws, routers, grinders, saws, drills, and power screwdrivers. There isn't a power tool out there you may need that Black and Decker doesn't manufacture.
The company began in 1917, only making drills. The concept was designed by Duncan Black and Alonzo Decker. By 1928, Black & Decker was beginning to introduce power tools after they took over a small company called Van Dorn Electric Tools. They began making improvements to that line of power tools to come up with the quality power tools we have come to trust today. The black and orange design was implemented in 1984. It clearly identifies any power tool as one belonging to the Black & Decker family.
In 1987 Black & Décor hit the Fortune 500 list of top ranking United States based industrial companies. They were also recognized for having the best sales force and customer service in the industry. This was based on a consumer survey. They continue to take pride in there sales department and their quality customer service today. It has served them well, with annual sales over $1 billon.
Black & Decker offers a full line of replacement parts and accessories for all their power tools. If you are on the go with your power tools, then consider purchasing a Black & Decker power station. It is the perfect solution for recharging any Black & Decker power tool.
Black & Decker power tools sell well in the United States, but they often don't get the credit they deserve. This is due to bigger and better competitors taking up the spotlight. However, they more than make up for it when you take a look at the amount of power tools they sell in other countries. However, Black & Decker should be recognized for always keeping the consumer in mind with their products.
We all know how important it is to operate any power tool properly. Black & Decker supports this as well. They want consumers to be safe using their power tools as well as get the best possible project results while using them. You can go to their website on the internet and find free videos and tutorials that walk you through how to properly use them. This is also a wonderful way to see all a particular power tool from their line has to offer you.
The top selling Black and Decker power tool on the market right now is the Handisaw. It is a very powerful, cordless tool.
