Although many people still do not know of ASSET exams, there are high possibilities that you will need to take the test if you intend to join either a college or university. This is due to the fact that there are presently over 400 colleges and universities that require their prospective students to take the ASSET test. This helps them in assessing the candidates and placing them in relevant categories for optimum performance.
The ASSET exam is, however, not an entry or admission test, which you have to take prior to joining a given institution such as ACT or SAT. This is a test that you are required to take after you have actually been accepted to join a college or university. While admission tests are used to ascertain whether prospective students have necessary aptitude and knowledge to survive and thrive in college, the ASSET test helps these institutions to place their admitted students into appropriate levels of respective courses.
When students join colleges and universities, there is an initial orientation period that is geared to help them adjust and fit in. It is usually during this period that many institutions give the ASSET exam to these new members. The American College Testing Corporation is the body that oversees the ASSET tests. This exam is different from many others in one critical area. It does not use a passing score. The ASSET test is just a diagnostic tool that helps institutions to determine the students' respective strong and weak points, which is then useful in placing them in classes that they are most appropriate for. In addition, the test helps in identifying given areas where a student needs to be assisted in. This means that although the test is taken after being accepted in college, it is usually done before the students enrol for different programs.
Although there is a variety of ASSET tests, they are primarily divided into two sections, namely, Basic Skills and Advanced Mathematics. The Basic Skills part is divided into Writing, Reading, and Reasoning while the Advanced Mathematics section is composed of algebra, advanced algebra, and geometry. It is the first section that is set more often. Although you may take 75 minutes to complete both sections, each section usually requires 25 minutes. All the questions are of the multiple choice type.
The Writing section contains 24 questions that test for such things as punctuation, style, and grammar. The Reading part is composed of 36 questions testing a student's reading skills as well as comprehension of what has been read. The Advanced Mathematics section is concerned with algebra and geometry of high school standard. Students are permitted to use calculators in this section. The ASSET exam is done by pencil on paper, yet the results can be known almost immediately after the test.
A student should use relevant exam preparation materials in order to get the best possible performance. This will make you be better placed, which will help you even slip some initial lessons, depending on your knowledge level.
Use appropriate study tools and take enough time to answer all questions as correctly as possible. Your score will be even better when you are relaxed. You should also bear in mind that you will not really fail an ASSET exam. Take advantage of the ASSET exam and get a headstart in your path to higher education.

What type of electrode should i use when welding a CS std pipeline (for the root and caps)?
You should use E 7018 IF the service is corrosive.
For water services you can use E 6013 with rectifier.
For electrode dia, it depends upon the thickness of the pipe and type of the pipe.
For low temperature carbon steel , you can use GTAW process with Er 70S2 filler wire.
