Here are some more information for Welder Generator:

People weld for many reasons. Some people start as a hobby, doing things like building yard art, mopeds, practical shop equipment or repairing things around the house. With modern welding equipment, this rewarding and useful hobby can be in anyones reach.
There are four basic processes of welding that are in use today.
Oxyacetylene welders use a flame to melt the metal and form the weld pool. An welding rod must be fed into the molten weld pool to fill the weld.
A stick welder uses an electrical arc to generate heat and a flux to help fuse the metal in a process known as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). A stick welder uses the electrode as the filler material.
The MIG welder, also know as a gas metal arc welder (GMAW) also uses an electrical arc to generate the welding heat and a shielding gas to protect the weld pool. The weld filler material is delivered via a wire feeder.
A TIG Welder generates the electrical arc using a Tungsten electrode, with a shielding gas while a welding rod is fed into the weld pool by hand. There are many other processes used in specific industries or specialized applications, but these are not practical for the average welder.
If you are trying to decide what kind of welder to buy there are a few important things you should consider. If you do your research and answer these basic questions before you make a purchase you will be much happier in the long run. A welder can be quite expensive, so it is important to make sure you get the one that will work for the type of projects you have in mind.
Oxyacetylene torches are the most versatile of all welding methods. You can weld any kind of metal with Oxyacetylene. You can also braze and cut metal with an Oxyacetylene torch.
Stick Welding is the most versatile of the electrical welding methods. It is primarily used to weld iron, steel and stainless steel. However you can also weld aluminum, copper alloys and nickel using a stick welder. Stick welding is used in most of the metal fabrication and construction industries.
MIG Welders where originally made to weld aluminum, tin, copper, zinc and brass. Now it is used extensively to weld steel as well. MIG welding is the most extensively used welding process in the automobile industry. It is relatively easy to learn, very adaptable and one of the best choices for someone looking to learn welding as a hobby. The advantages of MIG welding are that you can spend less frustrating time trying to learn the art of welding, and more time putting it to use.
TIG Welders are used to weld stainless steel, aluminum and other lighter metals. A TIG Welder allows greater control over the welding pool which results in better looking, higher quality, strong welds. TIG Welding is much harder to learn, and more difficult to master than any other commonly used welding process. However, with enough practice, TIG Welders can produce perfect welds of unsurpassed strength and reliability.
If you are interested in welding, The Welder Shop has an extensive selection of Lincoln Welders and Miller Welders as well as other welders for you to choose from. We also have welding supplies, informative articles and reviews of welders.
Generator- An Emergency Power Source
Most of us do not know the importance of electricity until it's not available. Power cuts are not predictable, it could occur at any moment. Electricity plays an important role in all sorts of business. Especially in hospitals power cuts could create lot of problems. So, whenever there is power cut, the generator could prevent the loss. Generator is a machine that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy.
Generally, generators have two main components.
- Motor: Burns fuel (LPG, petrol or diesel) to supply power.
- Generator head: Turns the power into electricity. The electricity generated by a generator is measured in terms of voltage and watts.
There are two basic types of generators. They are
Other types of generators, based on the fuel types are gas, LPG, diesel and natural gas generators.
Purchase of generators (buying considerations): After determining the size, there are several things that have to be kept in mind before making out any purchase. Fuel choices, motor speeds and cooling systems should be taken into consideration while making out a purchase. While purchasing, you should know the specific voltage needed for your company, and then you can pick the model that supplies enough wattage. In general, generator employs automatic voltage regulation to prevent voltage spikes from damage, has a displaced phase excitation to maximize starting capability and provide more surge power. Like any motor, a generator motor creates quite a bit of heat and needs a cooling system to prevent overheating. It can be either air-cooled or liquid-cooled. The major difference is that air-cooled systems are louder and but not effective. Liquid- cooled systems are quiet, more dependable and are more expensive to purchase and to maintain. While choosing, look for the one that comes with a brand name motor, because it will be much easier to find the parts and service for a well-established brand.
Maintenance: Generators should also be maintained like other equipments. Large standby types will automatically start each week and power up to make sure whether everything is functioning properly. Smaller generators require manual intervention like replacing the oil and spark plug at regular intervals ensures a proper functioning.
Uses: Generators are used for a variety of purposes, issues, emergencies, situations and events. Places that do not have electric service at all may need generators, the most common examples are construction and camping sites. Hospitals especially need top-notch electric power backup systems.

will a 6,000 watt (220V 25 amp) generator run a clarke 190 amp welder?
I need a welder and the only 220V i have access to is a 6,000 watt generator. The generator specifies it is 50 amps at 110V and 25 amps at 220 volts. The welder says it takes 25 amps at 220v. Now the question is, will it draw MORE than 25 amps momentarily like an electric motor will when it starts or is 25 the max?
6,000 watt is the running watts so there would be a little extra juice for a sudden surge. I just wasnt sure if 6,000 would do it on full load or not. It wouldnt, if the initial strike of the welder took over 25 amps, but it sounds like it doesnt.
The welder works at 190amps max and i'll likely not run it that high very much if ever so it shouldnt hardly ever pull a full 25amps.
It shouldn't. The inrush spike in current for motor loads is due to the force required to overcome the inertia of the locked rotor. That doesn't come into play with induction loads like heating and welding. You should be OK, but just barely. For safety's sake use it as close to the generator as possible to reduce distance voltage drop.
