Here are some more information for Welding Cable:

High copper prices have a great impact on power cable prices, especially for larger sized cables having long runs. Prices have sky-rocketed over the last few years and it is with this in mind that Ashley-Edison developed a product to "compensate" for the problem.
Many owners, developers and contractors have to suffer this expensive problem, but by incorporating a "Constant Voltage Compensator" an installation cost may be drastically reduced.
When the voltage across a cable drops to a low value, the "Compensator" is able to detect this and compensate by boosting the voltage to a preset value - of say 400V. Using an "output sensor" it will continuously monitor the output voltage, which is checked against a "comparator", and if there is any shortfall it will instruct the transformer to add (+) or "boost" the voltage to its required value by means of a servo motor. In this way, the output voltage is continuously monitored and maintained.
This system does not emit any harmonics and has been a well proven voltage stabiliser design, in use for many years.
The "Compensator" is very suitable for use on Golf Course Lighting/Equipment, Perimeter Lighting applications and Farm/Estate Buildings etc. where long cable runs are an issue.
Both Indoor and Outdoor enclosure types are available to suit a variety of needs.
Alternative "Booster Transformers" have a main disadvantage as their output voltage is "following". This means that whatever the input voltage, the "transformed step-up" output voltage will not remain constant - fluctuating according to any load changes which will transmit to the load where it may be too high or too low. The voltage from no-load to full-load will cause the voltage drop to change drastically, which will not help improve the voltage drop. The "less than 4% volt drop window" is still not fulfilled and it is required to use a larger than necessary cable size. In fact, this does not help resolve the problem of expensive cables!
Simon Dover is an operations manager at Ashley-Edison International - a leading global specialist in manufacture and supply of Automatic Voltage Stabilizers, AC Stabilisers, Regulators and AC Power Line Conditioner products.

Power and Data Cabling – Steel Wire Cable Tray
Owing to the fact that millions of metres of welded steel-wire cable tray is installed in buildings of every type since its European launch more than 30 years ago, this welded steel-wire cable tray. a versatile product is firmly established as a cost-effective cable-management system in recent times.
In spite of the fact that it is undoubtedly popular as a practical and cost-saving alternative to traditional perforated sheet-steel cable tray, wire ‘basket’ systems are still regarded by many well-informed people as having lower mechanical strength. It is this prejudice that has reinforced it to rise against the poor performance of lower-quality. This lightweight basket tray and higher-quality systems can hold against sheet steel tray and is even able outperform it in many areas. The major benefits of welded steel-wire cable tray includes excellent air circulation and these cables are installed in wire trays can be classes as clipped in free air’, enabling smaller, more efficient cables to be used. The device installs free drainage facility and prevents the build-up of dust and debris, giving far higher levels of cleanliness and hygiene and eliminating possible fire and safety hazards.
It is assumed that the large number of cables are capable of being carried in deep-sided cable containment and their total weight can cause mechanical stress or even partial crushing of the lowest layers, impairing their performance. Here the steel steel wire cable tray make it an ideal containment for power as well as communications cables. Further, the situation is less clear where space is limited or only a small number of communications cables and power cables need to be installed along the same route, especially if costs are under pressure. Temperature cycling tests also indicate that as wire mesh containment (as in the case of in steel wire cable tray) allows air to circulate freely, and also acts instrumental in providing a positive advantage by preventing overheating.
While using a steel divider, in a metal cable tray significant amount of separation required between power and data cables is significantly reduced. If these are unscreened, separation can be as low as 50 mm, assuming the divider is both physically and electrically continuous. Independent tests have supported the guidelines given in data-cabling standards, showing that increased separation reduces interference. However, tests also show that if both power and data cables are placed in enclosed trunking, interference to data cables is far higher. Installing data and power cables in an open wire-mesh cable tray, with low-impedance couplings and a continuous metallic divider reduces the problem at a stroke, providing significant savings in space, installation and materials — important considerations for both installer and client in a cost-conscious building environment. Independent tests have also supported the guidelines given in data-cabling standards, showing that increased separation results in reduced interference. These tests also claim that if both power and data cables are placed in enclosed trunking, interference to data cables is far higher. How much bigger is Welding cable compared to building wire... I need accurate numbers, Thanx?
I need the area (in^2) so I can size long barrel crimp terminals to fit snuggly around and provide a efficient connection... The last group just trimmed some wire off to fit in the hole, That is not going to work for my standards...
The cable are coming from some rectifiers that feed 24VDC @ 90 amps and another set of rectifiers that feed 48VDC. Welding cable is larger than building wire and the terminals avalible to me are sized for building wire... I need WRITIN proof that some how proves that this is correct and that it is basically code compliant, I have done it my self on UPS systems and that was common sence, if it doesn't fit go bigger.
Do you mean the AC line going to the welding unit, or the welding cable to the point of welding? The reason I am asking is because you are comparing it to building wire.
Welding cable is far thicker than building wire, and more than that it is not solid, it is stranded. Furthermore, it is especially stranded by far more strands to increase the flexibility. Welding cable is the "Porsche" of cabling. Typically, heavy gauge like 0 or 00 is used, occassionally as thin as #2. But the essential factor is the amount of current it will carry. You can't expect an exact answer because you never mentioned current. Look in the phone book and call a welding supply store. They will tell you what gauge should be used to replace cabling. You can also look in a home improvement store, at welding equipment, the current capacities, then see what gauge they used. Notice how flexible the cabling is - not at all like building wire, or cheap jumper cables. To crimp onto welding cabling you will need expensive crimpers. Manual types will cost a few hundred each, hydraulic is best but costs far more. Or, you have them crimped by a shop that deals with heavy cable - batteries, forklift dealers, etc. Why in the World are you comparing welding cable to building cable?
