Here are some more information for Welding Leather:

"Can you touch that up?" "Is there anything you can do about all these rock chips?" "I don't want to repaint the door because of that scratch. Can you just make it look BETTER?"
Detailers hear these questions constantly from their customers, but the most they can do is shrug their shoulders if they don't have a paint touch up system.
A professional quality chip/scratch repair system allows detailers to apply a small amount of color matching paint to chips and scratches to improve their appearance significantly. Indeed, no system or process can make these eyesores disappear completely from all distances, but if properly done, a touch up is bound to make a customer very happy for the money he/she pays compared to a body shop repair.
4 reasons it makes good sense to add scratch and chip repair to your detail shop or automotive cosmetic repair business (paintless dent repair, vinyl and leather repair, windshield repair, clear bra installation, and window tinters are all excellent candidates as well):
1. Customers demand it. Minor chips and scratches are inevitable on any car with over 10,000 miles. That's more than 90% of your customers! Only 10% of car owners pay for detailing services. Customers who care enough about their car to pay for professional detailing are very likely to pay for chip repair. They know their cars well--every flaw, every dent every scratch. They know where the minor chips and scratches are and find them to be irritating. Ask your customers about the chips and scratches on their car and you will probably find that want these eye sores repaired.
2. Scratch and chip repair is very profitable. Average service charges are between $30 - $60 and take just 10 - 30 minutes. Costs are minimal. You will use less than.10 oz. of paint, a paper cup, and some cleaning thinner on each job.
3. Paint touch up is easy to learn. The fundamentals of a repair are relatively simple: choose a matching color of paint, apply a minimal amount of paint to the chips and scratches, and clean your repair materials. You can justify a professional price for your repairs by minimizing the amount of paint you apply. Remember, customers can get matching paint of their own. They just can't apply it neatly with the oversized brushes that come with their "off the shelf" paint. If you can do a neater job than they every could with their own attempts, you will have a happy customer.
Among all the "add on" services (paintless dent repair, vinyl/leather repair, windshield chip repair), paint touch up is the simplest to learn.
4. Paint touch up is easy to teach to your employees. If you are going to add an additional service, it must be easy to train new and inexperienced employees with. Complicated tools and processes gather dust; simple, effective tools and processes get used and make money! The best paint touch up systems are designed to simplify and streamline the task of getting a matching color, filling the damage, applying the paint, and reorganizing the paint system. There are very few skills that can be learned in 1.5 hours that produce $70+ hourly profit, and chip and scratch repair is one of them.
As a detailer or cosmetic technician, you have a plentiful supply of customers needing touch up service. Service them! Invest in a high quality paint touch up system and you can add significant daily, weekly, and yearly profit to your business for a relatively little investment of time and money.
Bob Keppel has been a touch up repair specialist for over 10 years and is creator of the ScratchOut kit, a complete, professional grade paint touch up system by Applied Colors.
The ScratchOut kit has been in use for over 6 years and is the touch up paint system of choice for hundreds of detailers, paintless dent repair techs, auto dealers, and other cosmetic automotive technicians around the world
A Guide to Buying Garden Furniture
The first place you might want to take a look for outdoor furniture is your local department store. This type of store stocks many different styles of garden furniture and will usually have a pretty good price point. When comparing furniture, first look at the chairs. Since the chairs will get the most use and will have to support the most weight, it is imperative that you look at them more closely than the tables. Although plastic chairs will be more weather resistant, metal ones will provide better support. If you choose metal chairs, inspect the welds. They should be solid at each joint and the weld should go all the way around the joint, evenly. If there are any defects in the welds, the furniture will not hold up over time as the joints are the weak points of the furniture. Next, look at the webbing that will support the cushions of the chair. The webbing can also be made from metal or vinyl. If it is metal, once again, check the welds. If it is plastic or vinyl, check to make sure it is secured well to the frame of the chair. Next, purchase the best quality cushions you can afford. Since the cushions will ultimately dictate your comfort level, it is best have the best.
If you can, try to purchase metal furniture than has been coated in vinyl or plastic. The coating will help insulate the metal from the elements, reducing rust, and metal furniture just holds up longer than plastic. Try to avoid glass top tables, preferring to stay with acrylic or acrylic coated glass to prevent breakage.
Lastly, cover your outdoor furniture when it is not in use. This will protect it from the elements and ensure its beauty and functionality for years to come.

looking for infromation on old (1800'S) softball balls.?
I have 3 old softballs that are made from a company that's official. I can only make out the name as C---cher. No 112 - 12 in. steam welded Kapak. Reg U.S. Pat. Office "Elastic Shell" Welding. These softballs are made of leather with a sticking unlike I have seen on a ball of any sort. If anybody has seen or know where I can look for any information about these or what they are worth. Thanks
Those balls are what "Clincher" balls, made by a company named "deBeer".(not to be confused with the diamond company known as "DeBeers".) They would not be from the 1800's, as the clincher ball was not created until 1934. What makes them unusual is the stitching is internal, rather than being visible.
The baseball division was purchased by Worth in the 1980's and the rest of the company turned their attention to lacrosse equipment.
The Clincher name is still used, not only for the 12" softball, but also for the 16" softball used here in the Chicago area.
