Nickel 55 Cast Iron Welding Electrode Repair 1/8" 1 Lb List Price: $23.84 Sale Price: $20.63 |
|
Nickel 55 Cast Iron welding electrodeMFG: Weldcote MetalsThese are all NEW product and not dead or old stock.Electrode Size: 1/8" X 14" lengthPkg weight: 1 LBStock #: TMNI-5502 Weldcote Metlas Nickel 55 is designed for all-position joining and surfacing of cast iron, malleable iron and ductile iron to itself or dissimilar metals such as mild steel, stainless steel, wrought alloys or high nickel alloys. A core wire chemistry of approximately 55% nickel and 45% iron produces weld deposits with much lower weld shrinkage stress which in turn reduces the possibility of weld or heat affected zone cracking. Weldcote Metals Nickel 55 produces high strength, ductile weld deposits even when welding low grade cast iron containing excessive levels of phosphorus or other contaminants.Applications: Especially suited for welding heavy sections such as motor blocks, housings, machine parts, frames, defective castings and building-up worn sections. Weld deposits are machinable and the deposit color will approximate that of cast iron.Amperage range: 80-120 amps AWS Spec: A5.15/ASME SFA 5.15 |
Here are some more information for Welding Repair:

There are 3 major mistakes that welders make when buying auto darkening welding helmets, and it is surprisingly quite common to hear that even a professional welder making these kinds of mistake, especially when it is their livelyhood on the line. You would think they would take better care, and get proper equipment. These are not exactly easy mistakes to make either. Because on one side of the scale, the helmet will protect you, and the side these mistakes are made, they will harm you more often than not.
Don't check the speed of the sensor; this can be potentially fatal if not careful:
If they don't check how quickly it adjusts to the surrounding light, then there is a great chance of hurting your eyes, and being a waste of time to even have. You need to make sure that you buy a helmet with a speed of no less than 1/20,000 of a second, quicker if you can get it. Anything slower will be slower than your torch, which is the whole point of having the auto adjusting lens it the first place, the speed of 1/20,000 is just slightly faster than what it takes for your torch to flare up.
Don't check the range the helmet can adjust the lens to:
They go and buy the helmet, not checking out which range of adjust ability it actually has. You need to have at least a range of 9 - 13, higher is good to, try not to go for lower. If it is to low, it will not protect you enough, and cause you to go temporary blind as all you will see is the torchlight in your eyes. A good guide line is the average level is 10 for the welding hobbyist, if you are a professional, then you might want to go much darker, again, it all depends on what kind of welding you do, and how bright your torch is.
They cheap out and worry about the price of the helmet:
For starters, welders make an obscene amount of money, and it baffles me when they go for the cheapest tools they can go for just to save a couple of dollars. And with a price range of anywhere from the cheapest of $80 and anywhere up to the couple of hundred dollar range, try to go on the higher end scale. You don't need a custom design, unless you are hardcore, but don't cheap out and get the one that does not do its job properly.
If you have made these mistakes in the past when buying auto darkening welding helmets, then it is not to late to go back, and get one with a proper speed sensor, a higher range of adjust ability, and on the higher end of the price point. Making sure you do not make these mistakes any more could save your life, and your wallet in the long run. It does does hurt to get it wrong in this case, so play it safe, and make sure you are prepared before buying your own helmet.

Gas Equipment For Top-Notch Welding Quality
Gas welding is a kind of welding development that uses a fire that is feed by a under pressure gas fuel. More than a few different kinds of fuel gases second-hand used depending on job work, accessibility, and price.
Gas welding has been aggressively used from several decades, and even though it has been principally replaced by curve welding for many industrial job works, it is still respected for its quality and techniques.
Gas welding processes center on a torch that generates the welding flare. Expert welder can regulate the quantity of gas living being used by the set on fire and the oxygen used to supply the flare. By scheming the ratio of the gas and oxygen, the welder can generate different flames with different characteristics, depending on the material being welded. The welder uses a filler rod covered with instability to add substances to the weld and to displace the air from the weld location. Similar to all welding processes, the welder must be dressed in protective clothes, together with a welding mask, gloves, and other wearing accessories.
Earlier than acetylene could be successfully created and controlled, coal gas and hydrogen be consumed for gas welding. Today, gas welding is executed by means of propane, petrol, and hydrogen. Oxy-acetylene is the most frequent gas amalgamation used by gas welding equipment processes. Oxy-acetylene welding combines oxygen gas and acetylene gas to create the flame. Acetylene endow with one the hottest flare of all gas welding fuels, and can consequently be used to weld or cut substantial substances. Nevertheless, acetylene is pricier than a large amount welding fuel gases.
Gas welding uses welding bars to initiate stuffing substance into a weld. Welding bars for gas welding are covered with an instability material that vaporizes when heat is given. Actually, the vaporized flux relocates air from the weld site so that oxides are not integrated in the weld procedure. Welding bars are obtainable in a multiplicity of substances to go with the substance of the work pieces being welded.
No electricity is required to carry out gas welding, so these systems are transferable and used in isolated places that do not have electrical sources. Nevertheless, the gases use for this category of welding is flammable and they must be stored and handled properly. Gas welding equipment does not produce as much limited to a small area heat as curve welding, and the superiority of welds created by arc welding have resulted in the turn down of gas welding as the primary welding process. However, gas welding does still stay put a significant part of welding and production houses.
Tungsten inert gas welding is a curve welding procedure, consumes the heat of an electrical curve to liquefy the metal of a job quantity to generate a connect. Nothing like metal inert gas welding, tungsten inert gas welding uses a tungsten electrode that does not liquefy and supply to the weld substance.
A TIG welder's tools include of a TIG gas welding machine, protecting gas, typically argon; stuffing substance and protecting mechanism.

How to repair Automotive Condenser Coil Leak?
Recently, a rock truck spilled some rocks on the highway and one of them jumped up and crashed into my condenser coil on my car. This resulted in a good sized leak.
What do you think is the best way to self-repair this?
2005 Toyota corrolla. Most likley a aluminum coil.
Is there a aluminum epoxy that can seal this? Anyone have success with doing that?
Or should I just take the coil into a machine shop to get it repaired or welded?
Please help!
Replacement is the only option. DO NOT REPAIR THIS, Replace it. You have exposed the AC system to the Open air. you need to replace the condenser and the receiver dryer/accumulator. if you attempt to repair the condenser with an epoxy you will run the risk of blocking off the tubes also allowing flammable fumes in to the system. thus causing unknown conditions to exist in the compressor. Possible explosion comes to mind. having it welded is not a good option as well as you would most likely spend the same amount of money to weld it as you would to buy a new one. I would recommend using your insurance to help you with this repair as the cost for just the condenser and the receiver Dryer is close to 500 dollars. then your looking at testing and charging of the system which can be another 150 to 200 dollars. if your deductible is 500 (Most are) then your saving yourself some money and having the system repaired correctly.
